Regional Partnership Policy
SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY upholds the founding spirit, “Educating people who can refine their inner self and walk together with others.” Under its founding spirit, the University aims to become the top university in the Tohoku region bringing vitality to the region, through partnerships with local communities, in accordance with the following three policies.
- [Education] Practical education that will cultivate people who will contribute to the region, together with the region
- We will build a curriculum that enables students to grow together with the community in a cycle in which they put what they have learned in the classroom into practice in the community, reflect on what they have done in the community after returning to the classroom, further develop their abilities, and return to the community once more.
- [Research] Promotion of research to solve problems in the region, together with the local community
- In collaboration with business, local governments, and educational institutions, we will promote research of the region and deliver the new knowledge cultivated through that research to the local community. We will also clarify the problems in local communities and contribute to solving those problems and developing those communities.
- [Regional and Social Contribution] Development of projects that will contribute to local communities in collaboration with businesses, local governments, and educational institutions
- We will make use of the knowledge and wisdom cultivated in education and research at the University in the promotion of industry, collaboration with local governments, community service, and lifelong learning, to contribute to the promotion of the region.
