Students’ learning opportunities and faculty’s education and research is enhanced in collaboration with local governments, businesses, and schools, etc.
  • Provide classes delivered by professionals from the government sector and private sector as special lecturers, secure long-term internship positions, and conduct workshops with professionals from the government sector and private sector
SGU students acquire desired qualifications.
  • Share information about students’ learning status among faculty, with class teachers and advisors taking the main role, and support students’ independent learning by catering to the individual
2-2 Assurance of education quality and communication of information Substantive PDCA cycle is being turned for education and research, based on evaluations made by students and independent parties, high quality is being maintained, and information communication is being promoted.
  • Establish basic policies regarding internal quality assurance and make internal quality assurance initiatives substantive
  • Through program improvements to enhance the effectiveness of class evaluation schemes, promote the use of electronic media, etc. and encourage students and independent parties to participate in the evaluation
Teaching abilities of faculty members are high, and students’ proficiency levels and satisfaction levels are increasing.
  • Provide faculty training regarding syllabus improvement, thorough adherence to evaluation criteria, and Active Learning theory and techniques
2-3 Promotion of High School/University Articulation Reforms High School/University Articulation Reforms from entrance examinations to learning at the University are being promoted and admitted students are engaging in their studies smoothly
  • Enhance pre-enrollment education plans and identify and improve the actual situation of freshmen education
In collaboration with senior high schools, individual selection reforms based on the new Curriculum Guidelines are being implemented and students that suit the Admissions Policy are enrolling in the University.
  • Conduct individual selection reforms based on the High School/University Articulation Reforms and announce them widely
  • To make the most of individual students’ strengths, realize entrance examinations that make use of information about what students learnt and what activities they participated in at high school
Collaboration with Shokei Gakuin Junior and Senior High School is being strengthened, increasing the educational capabilities of both institutions.
  • Establish the High School/University Articulation Promotion department to enhance exchanges between Shokei Gakuin Junior and Senior High School and the University and promote collaboration plans
2-4 Establishment of support system for diverse students Support systems for diverse students have been established and learning environments geared toward students’ future goals have been enhanced.
  • Assist students with poor academic results or attendance rate from sudden financial changes to reduce withdrawal for financial reasons
Support systems for diverse students have been established and obstacles to career building have been reduced.
  • Set up a Student Support Office as a base for assistance and establish student support frameworks in collaboration with the Health Care Center
Organizations and venues for the provision of comprehensive services regarding international exchange have been established and students’ independent international exchange activities are promoted.

Consistency of education and career support for international students enables students to advance to their desired career paths.

2-5 Fulfillment of university life An education environment that caters to the “optimization of learning” has been established and education and research that respond to the needs of society are being conducted.
  • Establish an environment where students, faculty and staff can come together freely with the use of the advisor program.
Students live a fulfilling university life for four years.
  • Promote support for students’ extra-curricular activities such as student council and club activities, and enhance the facilities and conditions for those activities

2-7 Advancement of research functions, enhancement of the Graduate School The Graduate School is enhanced and substantial research activities are conducted.
  • Promote the enhancement of the Graduate School by elevating the research abilities of faculty, including the proposal for establishing doctoral courses
