A university that will equip students with The Power to Survive the Coming Age
Universities today are required to respond to the demands of the rapidly changing times to come and to contribute to the sustainable development of society. This, in fact, is the philosophy that SHOKEI GAKUIN has valued since its foundation in 1892. In an age where extreme progress is expected to be made in artificial intelligence, we are being asked to return to the origins of SHOKEI education that the founding principal Ms. Annie Buzzell stressed and to cultivate comprehensive abilities as human beings to survive the coming age with goodness.
In the Fourth Medium-Term Plan that commenced in April 2019, SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY established key challenges with the aim of nurturing the power needed to survive the coming age (universal competencies that will not become outdated, strong areas of specialization and broader perspectives) and to cultivate people who can deepen themselves and walk together with others based on Christian principles, which is the founding spirit of the University.
“Mission 19 Goodness – The Power to Survive the Coming Age” is an expression of the strong will of our teaching faculty and administrative staff to address these 19 challenges. United as one, our faculty and staff will tackle these challenges.
