Applicant Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all requirements of items 1, 2, 3, and 4 as outlined below:

Applicant holds foreign citizenship, will be age 18 or older at time of admission, and falls into one of the following four categories:
- Has completed or expects to complete 12 years of schooling overseas, or has been designated as such by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
- Has been admitted to a foreign university. (Please contact for details.)
- Has been affirmed by a private Admissions Eligibility Committee at SGU to have academic ability greater than or equal to a high school graduate.
- Has other circumstances that have been approved by the SGU faculty council.

Applicant has taken the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) administered by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and has tested in the subjects assigned by the department.

- Applicant has secured a personal guarantor.
The personal guarantor must be an adult making an independent living in Japan, who is willing and able to assume joint responsibility for all expenses related to the applicant’s tuition and personal matters. In the event that the guarantor is a foreigner, he or she must reside in Japan at least for the duration of the applicant’s period of study.

A preliminary consultation is required in order to confirm application eligibility. Please contact the Admissions Office in advance to schedule a consultation.

3) | Grade reports or transcripts from most recent academic institution. For documents in a language other than Japanese or English, applicant must provide a translation into either of those two languages. |

*Regarding dictionary use: only translation dictionaries between the applicant’s native language and Japanese are permitted (no electronic dictionaries). However, dictionary use of any kind is prohibited in the sections specifically designed to test Japanese language ability.
